Still feeling a bit overwhelmed from yesterday but feeling much better today....Thank you for all the good wishes and postive thoughts!!.. Matteo's medical report suggests that at 2.5 months his weight is in the 15 percentile....so he is small but all the other results seem to be in the normal ranges....should have the corrected medical tomorrow and have a doctor's appt. lined up for Tuesday morning....so feeling very good and yes looking forward to bringing him home.....
The 15th %ile is not small!!! Statistically he is within average range - and if he's 15%ile the North American chart, he's probably over 50%ile for the Vietnamese chart.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Samantha. M. is hovering between 5-10%.
ReplyDeleteOh, great thanks!! However I would think that Dr. Jonathan would use a Vietnamese chart?? No?...
ReplyDeleteI have the vn chart and the CDC chart. The doctor in Hanoi charted Ben on both. He also charted him on the height to weight WHO chart. Matteo would have to be about 3 1/3 kg to hit the low end of the VN chart (it doesn't actually have % but rather a high acceptable and a low acceptable) and 15th % on the CDC chart would have him at just over 4 kg or 9 pounds...assuming the measures were at 2 months.
ReplyDeleteThe charts are quite different with Ben always just above the high acceptable on the VN chart (so beyond 100%) and at 50% on the CDC chart for both height and weight.
If you give me a weight and a height I can tell you where he is on the Weight-for-length Boys World Health Organization Chart.
