Almost 9 days to go and speaking of baby ticket problems?....

Just wanted to post that I went back and forth with the travel agent that TDH uses for travel plans and again he is telling me noone has told him that they have had trouble with the baby ticket etc etc....so I am encouraging anyone who did have trouble and used this agency in Montreal, and had difficulties that you let them know and cc Dorinda on your message...They can't fix what they don't know and I'm sure in the days after everyone's return, the focus was just on getting resettled...but maybe now if you had some time you could explain so that the same thing doesn't continue to happen!! Thanks!!

  1. We booked through Alphen and had no problems... but I guess it always depends on the agents at the airport.

    Happy Packing :)

  2. Hey there...we did book through Alphen and three of the families had problems. There was a huge break in communication regarding the infant tickets coming back home. I even showed the Cnd Consulate all my paperwork thinking I had a ticket and they OKd the paperwork only to find out at the airport there was nothing in the system for Lily. They do know about it.

  4. Hi

This is the first time I post. We just returned from Vietnam last month and we had a big problem at Ho Chi Minh airport. They could not find the return baby ticket in the system. It took over 45 minutes to resolve the situation. We had two cranky kids (and a cranky husband!). I completly fogot about it afterwards and did not notify TDH or Alphen.

Hope you have a wonderful trip and meet your son as soon as possible ! It's a matter of days !

  5. We had the same problem as Anne-Marie, I blogged about it, and sent the blog to TDH. I am pretty shocked it's still happening!

  6. This is from my blog -March 2009
...we arrived at the airport in Vietnam extra early - 7:15 for our 10:10 flight. .. we were among the first to check in.. the counter girl ...printed out our boarding passes for the Vietnam to Hong Kong flight AND the Hong Kong to Toronto flight... However, there was a problem. Seems our babies were supposed to have paper tickets, not the e-tickets we were given. It took until 8:45 to sort this out, during which time we were not even allowed to check in, and sat in the airport wondering if we would be able to leave. Finally they let us go.
    ...

We arrived in Hong Kong a few hours later, secure in the knowledge that everything was sorted out and our seats were reserved. When we arrived at the gate for pre-boarding there was another problem. They took our passports and said to wait "right there" - they didn't say why. So the five of us waited while all the other passengers pushed past us to board the plane. I asked what the problem was and was told to wait. So we waited some more - now wondering if we were going to be stuck in Hong Kong, and without our passports. I pleaded with the girl to tell me what was happening, and she said the babies were supposed to have paper tickets and it should have been sorted out in Vietnam, not her fault. Very confusing as we did have the five boarding passes...
