What a difference a year makes, right? ... well not always, though Matteo has grown....Last year on these dates we were getting ready to travel home to Canada from Vietnam, and this year on the anniversary of our return, another memorable event: Matteo's first trip by ambulance to CHEO. He has croup, was having trouble breathing, and throwing up....terrible and anxious time for him and his mommy, though Teo was very calm while the paramedics buckled him onto the gurney and attached all kinds of tubes....he was fascinated, but for his mommy a tiring and very stressful ordeal, not unlike our return trip from Vietnam...stressful, worrisome, and looooooooong........
Last year...

Hi Chantal, yes Matteo is recovering...he has Croup, it is a virus....causes a barking cough, and inflammation of the vocal cords...it also causes breathing problems sometimes...they gave him some steroids by mouth at the hospital and that seems to have helped. Also he is supposed to sleep with his window open a little bit so he can have very fresh air to breathe...it all seems to be helping...it will take a few more days until he is over it completely....thank you!
ReplyDeletePoor little monkey and poor Mama! I'm happy to hear he is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteMais il n'a pas froid la nuit avec la fênetre ouverte un peu ?
ReplyDeleteHi Chantal, I put an extra blanket on Matteo and made sure he was wrapped nice and snug....it is important that he breathes cold air, so yes the room was cold...but it seems to have worked...the first night I left it open about 3 inches and then after two days went to leave it open only two inches or so...and then down to one inch....last night Saturday night I left it open only one inch and now it will be closed....he still has a small cough but not that awful cough he started with. xoxoox
