I have been in touch with two families who will be travelling soon to Vietnam to adopt two children from vungtau 1 - Matteo's orphanage and as I share with them some details of our trip, wonderful memories resurface. I think while I was there, as I have said to family and friends, I was operating on adrenalin most of the time and though there were moments to relax, thinking back...it went by so so quickly!....so I have been going back through photos and videos and am going to post here, as I don't think I have posted these before, videos of Matteo in his first home and the surrounding area. Praying that adoption #2 will also be in vungtau so it will be a return trip for Matteo and a renewed trip for us....
This a view of Matteo's room...you can see him sleeping in his crib where my black purse is propped.
Matteo cut his first two teeth while we were together. At the last minute before leaving I was reading that as an almost six month old he might be getting some teeth and sure enough the teething keys and ring were really appreciated by him. The following two videos were taken on the same day.
About a block away from the orphanage is this fish market. I may have posted this video in another blog, but repost it here as it reminds me of the last walk I took when I was alone after saying goodbye to Matteo in the orphanage for the last time.
This is taken on the day after our G&R. I wanted our first day as a family to be a very relaxing one and full of beauty. This was not our hotel but one nearby where you can pay to spend the day using their pool or sitting on the beach.
