Happy New Year!

Looking forward to 2016. I hope to enjoy the feelings of not being in the process of waiting for the adoption process to unravel and instead enjoy the feelings of my little family being complete!

Timelines of Adoption #1

August 5, 2008 Mailed Adoption documents to Agency
Sept. 19, 2008 - Received Ministry Approval of Homestudy
Sept. 29, 2008/Oct. Dossier to Vietnam(DTV)
October 27, 2008 - Received Part 1 - Citizenship Approval
October 27. 2008 - was told from Sept. 29. 08 - 18-20 months for a referral.
November, 30, 2009 told that a child proposal could come within 3 months.????? (Didn't happen)
July 9, 2010 -Received referral of my little boy, Matteo.
July 10, 2010 - Received Photos
July 16, 2010 - Citizenship Part One extended to October 31, 2011.
July 26, 2010 - Homestudy Extended to March 19, 2011
Sept. 1, 2010 - Received Matteo's Medical
October 19, 2010 - Received Matteo's Dossier
October 22, 2010 met with social worker to sign final paperwork.
October 25, 2010 - Official approval by SW sent to agency and sent to Minstry.
October 29, 2010 - Letter of No Objection (LONO) issued and sent to Agency and in turn sent to Vietnam.
November 8, 2010 - Hard copy of Letter of No Objection received by me.
November 16, 2010 - Leave for Vung tau, Vietnam.
November 19, 2010 - Held Matteo Bao for the first time.
November 22, 2010: Giving and Receiving Ceremony
December 6, 2010: Return to Canada.
December 8, 2011 - Mailed application to request Legal Name
change
January 20, 2012 - Name is now legally changed.
October 19, 2012 - Citizenship Certificate with new name arrived today finalizing all paper work for Adoption #1.

Timelines: Adoption #2

July 4, 2012 - Signed Homestudy update with Social Worker
July 11, 2012 - Agency received Homestudy update
July 12, 2012 - Agency sent Homestudy update to Ministry of Children and Youth Services
August 9, 2012 - Ministry of Children approves homestudy for the second adoption

January 2, 2013 - Citizenship Part 1 confirmed.

September 23, 2013 - Ministry of Children reconfirms Approval of adoption #2.
October 2013 - Dossier to Vietnam (DTV)

March 2014 - Dossier Deposited at the Department of Adoptions (DA) in Vietnam

June 17, 2014 - Referral of Malio Dinh

October 8, 2014 - Loss of Referral.

November 13, 2014 - Death of Malio Dinh/K.

May 13, 2015 - Prematch Referral of Malia Nhi (investigation already completed)

July 1- 2015 - Article 16 signed in Vietnam - Child Dossier Received.

July 21 - 2015 - Article 17 signed in Ontario delivered to agency July 23.

August 4 - 2015 - Travel set to HCMC before G&R date set

August 18 - 2015 - G&R and Adoption finalized.

September 1st-2015 - Travel home.
